The Story of The Croom Community Farmers Market: Rooted in Community, Growing Together
Our Humble Beginnings
In 2023, The Croom Community Farmers Market began with little more than a shared vision and just three local vendors parked under the Maryland sky. The idea was simple but powerful: create a welcoming space where neighbors could connect, local farmers could share their harvest, and small businesses could find their footing.
From day one, our mission has been strictly dedicated to celebrating the best of what is homemade, handmade, and homegrown.
Cultivating Local Busniess
What started as a small gathering has blossomed into a thriving community staple. Today, the market proudly hosts over 15 full-time vendors, alongside a vibrant rotation of part-time vendors. On any given Saturday, visitors can find an incredible showcase of local agriculture, seasonal produce, fresh baked goods, delicious food, and unique handcrafted items.

We are deeply committed to keeping the market accessible. By offering a low-cost solution for vendors to set up shop, we serve as an incubator for local entrepreneurs, helping them get their small businesses off the ground without high overhead costs. When you support our vendors, you are directly investing in the dreams of your neighbors.
A Market With a Mission
At The Croom Community Farmers Market, "community" isn't just a word in our name—it is the very heart of everything we do. We believe that a market should give back to the land and the people that sustain it. That is why most of the money made from the market goes right back into the local community.
Year-Round Food & Coat Drive
Ensuring our neighbors stay warm and fed, with a 24-hour drop-off location right here at the market.

School Supply Drive
Equipping local students with the tools they need to succeed every school year.
Bringing holiday joy, warmth, and gratitude to our beloved veterans during the Christmas season.
Adopt-a-Vet Program

Looking Forward
We have grown from three vendors to a bustling market family, but our core goal remains exactly the same: to uplift, support, and give back to the community we call home. Whether you come for the fresh produce, the handmade crafts, or just a friendly conversation, thank you for being a part of our story and helping us grow.

Frequently asked questions
Is the market open rain or shine?
No. For the safety and comfort of our vendors and guests, the market will be canceled or postponed in the event of inclement weather. Regular updates will be posted to our social media channels on questionable days.
Is fresh produce available all season long?
Produce availability varies throughout the season. Our growers are committed to providing exclusively local produce. Because our vendors do not source items from out-of-state or external wholesale distributors, certain fruits and vegetables will only be available during their natural local growing seasons.
How do I become a vendor?
We welcome new applications! Please email your inquiry to croomcommunitymarket@gmail.com. Please note our core vendor guidelines:
* Exclusivity: All items must be strictly handmade or homemade.
* Category Limits: To ensure vendor success and variety for our shoppers, we limit participation to one vendor per product category (e.g., one baker, one jeweler).
Are you open year-round?
Our regular outdoor season runs from May through the last Saturday of October. Additionally, we host two special holiday markets—one in November and one in December.
Is the market indoors or outdoors?
We are an entirely outdoor market. For our guests' convenience, the market grounds feature picnic tables, a hand-washing station, and well-maintained portable restroom.
Are dogs allowed?
Absolutely! We are a dog-friendly market. Well-behaved, friendly dogs are always welcome, provided they remain on a leash at all times.
Are there food options available on-site?
Yes. Most weekends we feature a local food truck or a caterer offering fresh, delicious meals on-site.
